Cabot Telephone Call Script
Cabot Representative: "How can I help you today?"
You:
> Hello. Before we begin, could you please confirm your name or operator ID for my records?
> Could you also confirm that this call is being recorded?
(If yes)
> Thank you. I also require a copy of the recording and transcript of this call as part of my personal data.
> I am calling regarding account reference [reference].
> Firstly, I do not admit liability for the alleged account.
> My purpose today is to clarify what documentary evidence Cabot actually holds.
Ask each question separately and wait for an answer:
1. Do you hold the executed credit agreement?
2. Do you hold a complete statement of account from inception?
3. Do you hold the original Default Notice?
4. Do you hold the Notice of Assignment?
5. Do you hold evidence showing Cabot has the legal right to pursue this alleged account?
6. Are these documents held by Cabot, or are you relying on information supplied by another organisation?
7. If you do not hold them, who does?
8. Will Cabot now provide copies of the documents relied upon?
If they avoid answering:
> Thank you. Please note that you have not answered my question. Could you answer it directly with either yes, no, or explain precisely what documents Cabot actually holds?
If they try to discuss payment:
> I'm not discussing payment today. This call concerns substantiation of the alleged account only.
Before ending:
> Please note that I require all future communication in writing. I also request preservation of this call recording and any associated notes, together with a copy of the recording and transcript. Thank you for your time.

The aim is to get Cabot to make clear admissions about what they actually hold, what they don't hold, and whether they're relying on someone else's records, while avoiding any discussion that could be interpreted as acknowledging liability.
