What you should never type into an AI
AI chatbots are safe to use for everyday things. But like anything online, there is a short list of stuff you should keep to yourself.
Do not type into an AI chatbot:
- Your passwords or bank login.
- Your full credit card or bank account number.
- Your Social Security number.
- Anything you would not want a stranger to read.
A good rule of thumb: if you would not write it on a postcard, do not paste it into an AI. You can still ask AI about money or forms in general terms, without ever handing over the private numbers. Keep those for the real bank, on a site or a phone call you trust.
