It is live: Deployment & Observability
The new flagship course just dropped in the classroom. Every builder here can make something work on their machine. This course is about everything after that: getting it live, keeping it live, and knowing exactly what it is doing when you are not looking. You follow one product all the way through. Kestrel Books, an order management tool for an online bookseller. You deploy it, instrument it, load test it, break it on purpose at 3am, respond to the incident, write the postmortem, and hand it over like a professional. By the end you will be able to: ☐ Ship to production with proper environments, secrets and reproducible builds ☐ Run CI/CD pipelines, canary releases, feature flags and zero-downtime migrations ☐ Roll back cleanly, and know the rare cases where you must roll forward instead ☐ Read logs, metrics and traces like instruments, not noise ☐ Set alerts that wake you for real problems and nothing else ☐ Define SLOs and error budgets, run incidents calmly, and write blameless postmortems ☐ Operate client systems as an FDE: runbooks, handover packs, reliability reviews, and when to say no to a launch How it works: ☐ 4 levels, 24 modules, 120 lessons, every module gated by a quiz ☐ 4 scenario labs where you make the actual calls: ship, hold, canary or reverse ☐ Drill mode for rapid-fire revision with streak tracking ☐ 30-question certification exam. Pass at 24 and print your certificate with your score and credential ID ☐ One file, opens in any browser, progress saves automatically, light and dark themes This pairs directly with the FDE tracks. Deployment gets you the demo. Observability and reliability get you the renewal. Find it in the classroom now. Post your certificate in the community when you pass the exam. First five certificates get a shout-out. Who is starting today? Drop a ☐ below and tick it when you finish Level 1. My Outlook on FDE Role
Role-fit one-liner: I’m a customer-focused technologist with 15+ years of experience across Dynamics 365, Power Platform, and enterprise solutions, now looking to bring my problem-solving, solution-building, and customer-facing experience into a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) role. An FDE role that excited me: I’ve been exploring FDE opportunities where engineers work directly with customers to understand complex, real-world problems, rapidly build solutions, and iterate based on feedback. What pulls me toward FDE? Honestly, it’s the combination of building + customer interaction + variety. I enjoy understanding a problem from the business perspective, translating it into a technical solution, building something practical, and seeing it create real value for the customer. That end-to-end ownership is what makes the FDE role particularly exciting to me.
