Welcome Operators! START HERE 🛠️🚀
⚠️ Take 30 seconds to read this so you know how to unlock your free resources. Welcome to The Service Business Operator. Glad you're here. This community for owners and operators of service-based businesses — HVAC, plumbing, electrical, landscaping, cleaning, pest control, roofing, painting, handyman, moving, junk removal, pool service, auto detailing, and similar hands-on, job-based businesses. If your business runs on scheduling jobs, managing a crew, and showing up for customers — this is built for you. Here is where service business owners/operators who aim to or already earn $40K, $50K, or $60K+/month come to increase revenue, build stronger systems, accountable teams, and a business that doesn't fall apart when you step away. If you want to get everything out of this community, read the rest of this post. It'll take you two minutes and save you months. A quick word on activity: This is a working community, not a waiting room. Members who sit at Level 1 without engaging get cleaned up every so often to keep this space full of operators who are actually building. Leveling up takes 5 minutes — let's make sure that's not you. A bit about me: 📍 Built and ran a service business to $1.5M+ in revenue over 3 years 📍 Worked inside multiple business-growth communities, trading leads and revenue strategy with other operators scaling their businesses 📍 Built a hiring, SOP, and delegation systems that let that business run without me in the field every day. Everything I learned doing that — the systems, the mistakes, the templates — is what I'm sharing here. ✅ Step 1: Introduce yourself in the comments below 1. Who are you, and where are you from? 2. What does your service business do, and what's your current monthly revenue range? 3. What's the #1 thing slowing your growth right now — leads, team, systems, or you? 4. What's one win you're proud of in your business this year? ✅ Step 2: Comment on at least 2 other members' introductions ✅ Step 3: Grab your Level 1 resources — Basic Operations Checklist and Five Systems Diagnostic are already unlocked for you.

Do companies need funding before they can really afford developers in the US?
Something I’ve been curious about lately. From my experience working with different software projects, development can become one of the biggest costs for a growing company. But not every business has raised money. Some companies are bootstrapped. Some are already making revenue. Others are still trying to get the product into the market. So I wonder how this works in the US. Do most companies wait until they raise investment before building a proper development team? Or are profitable small businesses comfortable investing in developers from their own revenue? Curious to hear from people actually running companies there. How do you usually think about this?
Introduction
Hey everyone! 👋 I’m Sophia. I help connect homeowners with trusted professionals when they’re in need of help with their home. I enjoy making the process easier for homeowners by helping them find the right people for the job. I’m here to connect, learn, and hopefully be a helpful resource to the community. 😊
Curious about what US founders are building right now
I’m based in Tokyo and spend most of my time around software, AI, and business. Always interesting seeing what gets built in the US. Different speed, different market, sometimes a totally different way of doing things. For people here running a company in the US, what are you working on these days? Could be SaaS, AI, e-commerce, local business, anything really.
