Few moments in Scripture feel heavier than the cry of Jesus from the cross.
In Matthew 27:46, Jesus cries out, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” In that moment, He carried the weight of sin, suffering, and separation so that we could be brought near to God.
What’s powerful is this—Jesus understands human pain completely. He understands grief, loneliness, rejection, exhaustion, and moments that feel unbearably dark.
That means when you walk through difficult seasons, you are not praying to a distant Savior who cannot relate. Jesus knows what suffering feels like.
And yet even in His anguish, Jesus still cried out to the Father.
That’s a reminder for us: when life feels confusing or painful, don’t run from God. Cry out to Him honestly. Faith is not pretending everything is fine. Faith is continuing to reach for God even in the middle of the struggle.
Some of the deepest moments of spiritual growth happen when we learn to trust God even when we do not fully understand what He is doing.
If you’re walking through a hard season right now, hold on. God has not abandoned you. Friday was painful—but resurrection morning was coming.
