We live in a generation that has become very familiar with Christian language.
People know how to say:
- “I’m blessed.”
- “God is good.”
- “Grace.”
- “Favor.”
- “Anointing.”
But one of the tragedies of modern Christianity is that many believers have become familiar with spiritual vocabulary without actually growing in spiritual depth.
There is a difference between being exposed to Christianity and actually being rooted in Christ.
A believer can attend church regularly and still remain spiritually shallow. A person can know songs, sermons, and trends yet still struggle deeply with stability, discernment, consistency, and intimacy with God.
Depth in God is not measured by how long you have been around church culture. It is measured by how formed you are in Christ.
The believer was never called merely to consume Christian content. We were called into transformation.
One of the dangers of shallow Christianity is that it often collapses under pressure. This is why many believers seem strong only when circumstances are favorable. But when adversity comes, confusion quickly follows.
Why?
Because excitement cannot replace foundation.
Jesus spoke about the wise man who built upon the rock. The storm came to both houses. The difference was not the storm. The difference was the foundation.
A believer who is deeply rooted in:
- the Word,
- prayer,
- sound doctrine,
- fellowship,
- and communion with God,
will not be easily shaken.
The goal of discipleship is not merely emotional inspiration. It is stability.
God is not merely trying to give you spiritual moments. He is building spiritual substance within you.
And substance takes time.
It takes:
- consistency,
- humility,
- correction,
- study,
- obedience,
- and continual growth.
Do not settle for surface-level Christianity.
There is more in God than occasional inspiration.
There is depth available for the believer who truly desires Him.
I hope this helped you, because it has helped me too
