REPLAY Lunch Break Live-Kingdom Community and Connection
Today we talked about one of the most important life skills we'll ever develop—communication. Every relationship rises or falls on our ability to communicate effectively. Whether it's marriage, parenting, ministry, friendships, or work, misunderstanding is often at the root of conflict. James 1:19 gives us a simple but powerful formula: be quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to become angry. Notice the order. God tells us to listen first, speak second, and manage our emotions throughout the process. A COUNSELING PERSPECTIVE These three parts of communication need to be taken into account in order for it to be effective: - Intent — What I meant. - Delivery — What I actually said. - Perception — What you heard. Many conflicts happen because some people judge our intent while others only react to the delivery and their perception.

REPLAY Lunch Break Live: Kingdom Community & Connection (Part 4)
We continued the discussion of the C’s of a community (Communication, Connection, Consistency, and Compassion). Communication helps me hear you. Connection helps me know you. Consistency helps me trust you. Compassion helps me understand you. Will my compassion help someone grow closer to God and increase their awareness of who God created them to be, or will it create an unhealthy dependence on me? “So, as God’s own chosen people, who are holy [set apart, sanctified for His purpose] and well-beloved [by God Himself], put on a heart of COMPASSION, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience [which has the power to endure whatever injustice or unpleasantness comes, with good temper]; bearing graciously with one another, and willingly forgiving each other if one has a cause for complaint against another; just as the Lord has forgiven you, so should you forgive. Beyond all these things put on and wrap yourselves in [unselfish] love, which is the perfect bond of unity [for everything is bound together in agreement when each one seeks the best for others].” ‭‭Colossians‬ ‭3‬:‭12‬-‭14‬ ‭AMP‬‬ https://bible.com/bible/1588/col.3.12-14.AMP
