WELCOME TO THE CLUBHOUSE
This is where the Fairways Optional chaos begins. I’ve dropped a quick intro video to get things started. At the end, I ask some quick questions - so jump in below and let us know: Name: Where you’re from: Where you play: What you’re working on: Your golf goal: Bonus question: What’s your most Donny moment? A Donny moment is any shot, decision or disaster that seemed like a good idea for about three seconds. I’ll go first in the comments. Welcome in. Golf’s hard. Let’s suck less together.

🏌️ UNHACK THIS HOLE: Narooma 18th
If this isn’t one of the best finishing holes in Australia, I’ll eat my shorts. Par 5. Hard dogleg right. Beach waiting for anything too far right. And if you get a good one away, there’s the tempting option of having a crack in two. I’ve just dropped the full Unhack This Hole breaking down the options and showing how I played it. Have a watch, then I want to hear from the crew: Are you laying up, or having a crack at the green in two? 👇

⛳ WEEKEND ROUND-UP
Another mixed bag this weekend! Saturday was up and down - put a couple OB, few in hazards and rolled the rock pretty average… then somehow gave myself two eagle chances. Go figure 😂 Golf makes absolutely no sense sometimes. Played much better in the Sunday 9-hole comp and finished with 19 points through the front 9, so I was pretty happy with that. 🏌️ Chipping update: Following on from my chipping struggles last week, one thing I really focused on this week was keeping the hands soft through impact. For me, that stopped me feeling like I was getting “stuck” at the ball and helped me keep everything moving through the shot. It felt heaps better in practice - now I’m keen to see if I can actually trust it under pressure this weekend! 🏆 Chipping Challenge - Week 1: A HUGE congratulations to Josh Enright, who takes the chocolates for Week 1 with a massive: 🔥 38 POINTS 🔥 That’s officially the score to beat. Who’s coming for Josh this week? 👀 🎥 What’s coming: I’ve been flat out working on an 18-hole edit where I talk through every shot, target and decision. It’s an absolute mission to edit 😂 but I’ve really enjoyed putting it together. Clips will slowly start appearing across the socials, and I’ll share the full version here once it’s finished. And speaking of videos - a few of you have reached out asking for a wedges inside 100m video. That’s coming this week! 👊 Plenty happening at Fairways Optional. How did everyone go over the weekend? Any wins, disasters or shots you’re still thinking about? 😂👇
Anger management
Do you have any way to manage anger since after a few holes of getting bogeys my mental game is destroyed during tournaments and I start making rash decision like going for the green in 2 on a par 5 when my line on the fairway is bad (eg. ball lower than legs), resulting in doubles. Or after hitting it out of bounds I go for the driver again and make the same mistake. That might be the reason why im not shooting even par in tournaments.
