'Before You Begin: Safe Lunging Foundations' is designed as the starting point for anyone who wants to feel clearer, safer, and more prepared when working with their horse on the lunge. Lunging can become a powerful conversation between horse and human, but before we get into connection, feel, rhythm, and pre-ride assessment, the basics need to be in place. This mini-course gives you the foundation. It walks you through: - the basic equipment - preparing your horse for lunging - setting up your space - where to position your body - the basic technique of sending, guiding, and stopping - how to manage the circle If you are new to lunging, start here. If you already know how to lunge, use this as a refresher and a chance to check whether the foundations are really clear for both you and your horse. This course is also the best place to begin before moving into Lunging for Connection, where we go deeper into using lunging as a calm, connected pre-ride check. A quick note: the courses in the Classroom will begin in written form, with videos, demonstrations, case studies, and extra explanations added over time. I see this as a living learning library.
