May 3rd, Feast of the Holy Cross
Depart from me, Satan, for from me you shall gain nothing. Neither at the hour of my death shall you find me, for on the day of the Holy Cross I proclaimed a thousand times: Jesus, Jesus, Jesus… It’s a traditional Catholic invocation of protection and faith, often recited on May 3rd, which commemorates the discovery of the True Cross by Saint Helena.

Prayer for Police
A family member of mine is a police officer and has to attend a protest in Providence this afternoon at 2pm. Please pray for his safety and for peace to come to my heart that is filled with worry.

Learn to Wait in Patience
God’s timing is always better than our timing. Sometimes we will give God latitude when it comes to the particular things we want from God, but we lack patience for it. This advent season is all about waiting on God to fulfill His plan in and with us. We want God to act fast and act now. We are seldom willing to wait for Him. YET… How often do we ask God to wait for us. We linger and wallow in sin — we put off going to confession. We get lazy in our prayer — we don’t pray as we ought. We get busy with our projects, and put off doing what God wants us to do… Yet… God Patiently waits. When we finally do come around, HE REJOICES! So… ask the Lord for patience, the kind of patience that He has for us! Happy Advent — Happy waiting!
