Hi everyone! My name is Patrick, and I’m from Singapore. I’m learning Chinese because I want to use it more effectively in business conversations. My goal is to improve my speaking, listening, vocabulary, pronunciation, and also learn more Chinese idioms and proverbs. I would describe my current level as intermediate. My biggest challenge is learning to think in Chinese instead of first thinking in English and then translating. I look forward to learning with everyone and improving together!

I find learning Putonghua pinyin quite monotonous, and I’d like to explore more engaging ways to master it. I’ve been struggling with certain aspects and feel stuck at a plateau that I can’t seem to overcome. At the same time, I’ve joined Toastmasters to strengthen my presentation skills and become more confident in public speaking. My goal is to break through these challenges and continue improving both my language ability and communication skills.
