FROM THE VAULT DAY 1
Title: The Battle Begins with a Lie.
Scripture Reading: John 8:42-44
Pay close attention to what Jesus says about the devil.
Jesus does not describe the enemy as someone who sometimes lies. He reveals that lying is his nature.
That means every thought, suggestion, or internal narrative that contradicts what the Father has spoken through Jesus has one source.
And the reality of it is this: IT IS NOT YOU, IT IS THE ENEMY.
This is where many believers miss it. They do not discern the voice correctly.
Because the enemy does not speak to you. He speaks as if he were you. Always keep in mind that he always speaks to you in the first person. He says things as if it is just coming from your own mind or thoughts. Things like;
I am not enough.
I will always struggle.
I am too far gone.
That is not your voice. That is deception wearing your identity.
And if you misidentify the voice, you will mismanage the battle.
You will try to fix yourself instead of confronting the lie.
The enemy follows a consistent pattern:
1. Suggestion
He introduces a thought that contradicts the truth. Not loudly. Subtly.
2. Repetition
He repeats it until it feels familiar.
3. Agreement
Once you believe it, it becomes a stronghold.
4. Identity Shift
You stop saying, “That is a lie,” and start saying, “This is just who I am.”
That is how he gets away with murder. Not by force, but by agreement.
SO HOW DO WE FIGHT SPIRITUALLY?
- Discern the voice
Not every thought is yours. You need to stop entertaining ideals that you know are not yours.
Ask yourself: Does this align with what the Father says about me through Jesus?
If not, reject it immediately.
It's time for you to evict every thought you know is not from God.
2. Refuse Agreement
The enemy has NO authority without your agreement.
Agreement is what gives the enemy access.
Every thought you agree with, you EMPOWER.
This is the stance you must take moving forward.
"I break agreement with everything that is not God's Truth!"
3. Replace the Lie with Truth
REPLACEMENT IS VITAL! You cannot be silent about this anymore. You must declare the Truth, which is the written Word of God with in your life, and make that the stronghold within your mind.
2 Corinthians 10:5 NKJV
casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,
When Paul writes this passage of scripture, he is informing us of ways we can conquer in mental warfare. The mind is the battleground for every attack the enemy throws at us. This is why Paul always reminds us in Romans 12 that we are to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. These negative thoughts are not just thoughts; these are ARGUMENTS against the TRUTH.
And Paul tells us that WE have to cast them down!
This means;
Don't entertain them
Don't overthink them
Don't analyze them
Don't let them sit in your mind
You must TEAR THEM DOWN IMMEDIATELY!
The enemy always tries to present his thoughts concerning you as higher than what God says about you. Anything that presents itself as higher than what Jesus has said about you must be brought down.
WE don't negotiate with the enemy's lies, nor do we have to tolerate them anymore as well.
THEN WE BRING THE THOUGHT CAPTIVE!
The language Paul uses here is aggressive language.
YOU ARREST THEM
Before a thought becomes a belief,
Before a belief becomes a stronghold
You take it captive.
4. Speak Truth Until it Becomes Reality in your Thinking
Transformation happens when truth becomes your default voice.
Not what you say occasionally, but what you consistently say and believe. Faith is not just believing God exists. It is believing what he said is true over what you feel.
We will close with what Jesus says in John 12:49-50. Jesus says;
John 12:49-50 NKJV
For I have not spoken on My own authority; but the Father who sent Me gave Me a command, what I should say and what I should speak. [50] And I know that His command is everlasting life. Therefore, whatever I speak, just as the Father has told Me, so I speak."
Jesus knew the Father's voice, and as believers, it is vital for you to know His voice as well. His sheep know His Voice, and you need to break agreement with every other voice that has spoken against what the Father has said concerning YOU.
IF YOU KNOW WHAT HE SAID, BELIEVE IT WITH EVERYTHING IN YOU. Most importantly, YOU MUST speak what He said from your own mouth. Let the enemy know that you no longer agree with his lies.
No more silence! Open your mouth, and declare HIS TRUTH!
Reflection
Close your eyes and really sit with this:
What lie has been shaping how I see myself?
Where did that lie begin?
Was it through rejection?Failure?A past mistake?
The Holy Spirit is not just exposing the lie. He is showing you where it entered.
Because once the root is exposed, it can be removed.
Some of you are about to experience freedom in your mind that you have not felt in years.
Because today, you stop calling the lie “you.”
SPEAK THIS OVER YOURSELF;
I renounce every lie that has been spoken against my identity.
I break agreement with every false thought and every deceptive voice.
I discern the enemy tactics, and I reject his influence.
My mind belongs to the Father.
I think in alignment with truth.
I am who the Father says I am through Jesus.
Every lie is uprooted, and truth is established in me.
From this day forward, I walk in freedom and clarity.
