Scripture Reference; James 4:7 NKJV Therefore, submit to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. One of the greatest misconceptions believers have about spiritual warfare is that resistance begins with rebuking the devil. But this is the reason why so many are losing the battle. According to the scripture reading, resistance begins with SUBMISSION. SUBMIT to God. RESIST the devil. He will flee. For many people, their warfare is not against the enemy, but it is against their own willingness to submit to the will of God. The authority to resist comes from a life surrendered to God. SUBMISSION IS NOT WEAKNESS SUBMISSION IS ALIGNMENT. This is why he looks for places of agreement, fear, compromise, offense, bitterness, insecurity, or unbelief, so that he can gain influence in a person's life.
