WABI SABI and AIP EMDR Practice Lab Tomorrow!!
Just a reminder that tomorrow evening's EMDR Playground Practice Lab begins at 6:00 PM EST. We'll be exploring Wabi-Sabi and AIP: Honoring Adaptation, Trusting Transformation and playing with imagery, metaphor, symbols, nature, expressive arts, and EMDR applications. I'm excited for this one. I've been thinking about these ideas for quite some time and can't wait to explore them together. If you plan to attend, please RSVP if possible so I have an idea of who's joining us. See you tomorrow at 6:00 PM EST! If you can't make it live, the recording will be available afterward inside the membership.

Looking for link
Hi Jackie - I don't see the 6pm event tomorrow in the Skool calendar and am not seeing a link for the 7pm event in the calendar. Perhaps I should be looking someplace else? [email protected]
Flower Breathing
For the past six years, Flower Breathing has been one of the tools I keep coming back to. I've used it in therapy sessions, classrooms, groups, and most recently with students experiencing test anxiety. The flower gives children a simple way to follow their breath, but what I've found is that the breathing is only part of it. Like any regulation strategy, it works best when it's woven into moments of connection. 💙 I introduce it PLAYfully, breathe WITH children, and give them time to experience it when they're calm rather than waiting until they're overwhelmed. Over time, the flower becomes familiar. Children know what it feels like because they've experienced it with someone else first. Then, when distress shows up, they have something they already know how to do. Familiarity makes all the difference..

PLAY
When reprocessing slows down, I often find myself wondering, "Am I following the client's nervous system, or am I trying to follow my treatment plan?" With children, I often return to the PLAY. To notice where the energy goes, what brings connection, what creates distance, and what seems to invite a little more flexibility into the system. Attunement is key. And sometimes, it's trusting the play.
