I started on Tik Tok!
My first book is finally finished and out on KDP. It took me a long, long time and a lot of absorbing new information and learning new skills to get here and now ...... I have another mountain to climb. Many of you probably know much more about Social media than I do, though that's not a high bar! I have not had a Tik Tok or Instagram account before and in the last few weeks have had to learn how to make and edit videos on my phone (I've been using Capcut) and how to then upload them onto these platforms. I've also had to learn about the importance of a good hook, think about who I am aiming at and think about a style of video that suits my audience and me. I currently have three videos posted and am aiming to produce one a day for the first month. I suppose what I am trying to say is that if you managed to teach yourself how to write, produce and upload a book to KDP you can learn to produce and upload a Tik Tok video. There is a lot of information out there and Davide's videos and courses, here and elsewhere have been particularly useful. Much too early to say how things are going yet as regards the effect on my book but if, like me, you know little to nothing about Social media it can be done if you are willing to learn and put the effort in. Good luck everyone who is trying this approach. I will keep the community posted about my results and would love to hear about how everyone else is getting on with the posting videos side of things.
