I apologize for letting this Forum go dormant for a bit. I have been busy developing new tools for EHS professionals, and I'm excited for you to try them out. They are custom GPTs that will assist you with compliance! I will make available immediately my HazCom GPT. I have built it to help walk you through HazCom compliance, referencing the regs, and if you like generate a report to assist you in improvements or help you brag about how well you're doing! My goal is to provide you with a "secret weapon" in helping you with your compliance duties. All you'll need is a (free) subscription to OpenAI's ChatGPT. I ask that you check it out - I'll put a link to it in the Classroom. Please give me feedback so that I can improve it. I will tell you that I was initially developing apps but found a custom GPT to be better for our purposes. I will also provide you with an environmental compliance spreadsheet that I use to conduct facility audits. it is in a question format, with reference to relevant regulations. I have also built a custom GPT based on this spreadsheet. This is an even more robust GPT and very comprehensive. As it represents a tremendous amount of effort and experience I'll put the Environmental Compliance Guide into a paid section - I think you will find it extremely valuable in your very complex environmental compliance duties and more than worth a small fee to access it. Please let me know how I can help!

Environmental Risks in FBO Operations: Are You Prepared? ✈️🌍
Fixed Base Operators (FBOs) play a critical role in aviation, providing fueling, maintenance, and other essential services. But with these operations come significant environmental risks and liabilities—from fuel spills and stormwater contamination to hazardous waste management and regulatory compliance. A recent industry report highlights real-world cases where FBOs faced major financial and legal challenges due to environmental incidents. For example: 🚨 Fuel hydrant system leaks led to long-term groundwater contamination and remediation costs exceeding $400,000. 🚨De-icing fluid mismanagement resulted in wetland contamination, regulatory fines, and millions in compliance costs. 🚨 Hazardous waste mishandling left FBOs contractually liable for pre-existing pollution, leading to costly cleanup efforts. 🔍 Key Takeaway? Proactive environmental audits and risk management strategies are essential for protecting both operations and financial stability. Identify risks before they turn into costly liabilities.

NEPA Compliance and "Trumps War"
https://legal-planet.org/2025/01/22/trump-versus-nepa/ As a former regulator and a practitioner that has to get permits, etc. on occasion, over my entire career regulatory actions at the local, state and federal levels almost universally take way longer than they should. Even where statutory deadlines exist for agency actions, those deadlines are often ignored with no consequence. We have become used to things taking forever and there is usually no good reason for it. It really is a burden on the entire economy and it can be fixed without compromising environmental protections.
