Steps on how to do products research for Shopify store
Finding the right product for your Shopify store is like solving a puzzle—you need demand, profitability, and a unique angle. Here’s how to do it: 1. Choose a Niche You Care About Pick something you’re genuinely interested in and that aligns with your audience (e.g., modest fashion, halal products). Check Google Trends to confirm demand. 2. Find What’s Already Selling Use Amazon Best Sellers, TikTok trends, eBay Trending, and AliExpress Dropshipping Center to spot popular products. If it’s selling well, there’s demand—you just need to improve it. 3. Check the Competition Google your product idea, analyze competitors’ pricing, reviews, and marketing. Look for gaps you can fill, like faster shipping or better branding. 4. Ensure It’s Profitable Find suppliers on AliExpress, Spocket, or CJ Dropshipping. Aim for at least 3x the cost price to leave room for marketing and profit. 5. Test Before Committing Run a small Facebook or TikTok ad ($5-$10/day) or engage in Facebook and Reddit groups to gauge interest. If people respond well, move forward. 6. Launch & Optimize Set up a clean Shopify store, use high-quality images, social proof, and competitive pricing. Keep testing and improving to maximize success. Need help finding a specific p roduct?
