Welcome its great to have you sir. I was just reading about Jacob serving and working for Rachel for 7 years...
What's something you've done consistently for the last 7 years?
No matter what it is... If you've done it for that long, then I believe you have a grace or supernatural empowerment in that area.
God gave Jacob grace to serve for Rachel, especially when the Bible says the times past like it was just a moment.
Next we see that Rachel was favored but Leah was tolerated...
The BIble says God resists the proud, but gives Grace to the humble.
God gave Leah grace to have children.. why? Because he saw she was "hated". The bible actually uses that word.
Genesis 29:31
31 When the Lord saw that Leah was not loved (hated in KJV), he enabled her to conceive, but Rachel remained childless. 32 Leah became pregnant and gave birth to a son. She named him Reuben, for she said, “It is because the Lord has seen my misery. Surely my husband will love me now.”
Understand in your hardest times, if you choose not to become bitter, but allow life to humble you... God will empower you... even more than those that seem to be in glorious seasons. God said to Paul.... in your weakness I am strong.
2 Corinthians 12:9
9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
There is a power you do not yet know until you become weak. His strength is MADE perfect or full in your weakness. There is a forcing, a place where its not optional, but God must empower you in weakness because he cannot go back on His word!
Finally we see Rachel get desperate...
Genesis 30:1-3
When Rachel saw that she was not bearing Jacob any children, she became jealous of her sister. So she said to Jacob, “Give me children, or I’ll die!”
2 Jacob became angry with her and said, “Am I in the place of God, who has kept you from having children?”
3 Then she said, “Here is Bilhah, my servant. Sleep with her so that she can bear children for me and I too can build a family through her.”
Understand that even your enemies will become Jealous of you when God empowers you. Rachel went from being the favored one, the one that was pursued and loved to being the one who was jealous. Never allow pride to set in during good seasons, stay low.. stay humble, stay where the power is!!!
The most powerful part of all of this...
Rachel and Leah go back and forth giving their maids to Jacob so they can have children, but Rachel has not yet had a child from her own womb yet...
Finally... the bible says, "God remembered Rachel..." God has not forgotten you! It may seem like it but God will not forget your labor of love!
Genesis 30:22-25
22 Then God remembered Rachel; he listened to her and enabled her to conceive. 23 She became pregnant and gave birth to a son and said, “God has taken away my disgrace.” 24 She named him Joseph, and said, “May the Lord add to me another son.”
Jacob’s Flocks Increase
25 After Rachel gave birth to Joseph, Jacob said to Laban, “Send me on my way so I can go back to my own homeland. 26 Give me my wives and children, for whom I have served you, and I will be on my way. You know how much work I’ve done for you.”
Rachel waiting this entire time, because the bible says, the least shall be the greatest and the first shall be last. Rachel has Joseph... the son who would save all of Israel and be a type of Christ. Also multiple sons of Leah would later be removed from the 12 tribes while Joseph's sons would be added.
Understand... Do not grow weary in well doing. God has the best saved for last!
(Notice when Joseph finally came ... It was time for the entire family to move.)
And when the blessing finally comes... the season changes, the location changes, the people you're around change... its time to go... because God has promoted you!
