Change Starts from Within
I heard a quote a couple days ago that really stuck with me.
"Respecting personal boundaries is also respecting someones choice not to change."
You cannot want someones success more than they want it. Well you can, but what ends up happening is you're frustrated and angered and they're left despising or resenting you.
A couple facts are... the areas that you see and want people to change in today, may not even be what God is working on currently.
If you look back on your own life, did the greatest shifts happen when you were being pressured or corrected? Or did they come in your time of self reflection?
Did you find that someone correcting you and explaining all your missteps shifted your life OR did you find that as people modeled correct behavior you had gradual change that you still see fruit from today?
We cannot change people, think about how much you want to change yourself and you're still having problems.
What we can do is love people and walk with people and be a sounding board as God reveals and directs.
What are your thoughts?
