I just sold another domain at Atom. The other was yesterday. Both of these are circa 2019 hand registrations.
Today I would never register a domain like Boostzer. Names like that aren’t worth the risk, they don’t roll off the tongue, they don’t carry meaning, and they just feel weak.
When you’re registering domains, you’re essentially playing the odds. Think of it like poker: you don’t play every “decent” hand. You play based on ranges and position, folding plenty of hands that might look good on the surface but aren’t strong enough long-term.
Boostzer was a fish play, the kind of hand you shouldn’t even be in, and I just got lucky that it sold. Honestly, I don’t even know how I let it renew for so many years.
The takeaway: don’t convince yourself to keep weak names alive. Play the odds, not your emotions or luck.
