To adopt or not to adopt?
I sat an amazing dog a few weeks ago, June. So much so that, when she left, I was mourning her. After my dogโ€™s passing last July, I didnโ€™t think I could ever love a dog that deeply. Wellโ€ฆ maybe I can. A few days after Juneโ€™s return home, I wrote to the owner asking if they could leave a review on my Rover profile. I also wanted news about June, but didnโ€™t want to look like I missed her too much ๐Ÿ˜ The owner said that it looked like June was missing me a lot. She looked depressed since they came back. I went outside a lot more with her than what sheโ€™s used to. She loved it. And I loved it too. And then the owner told me that they would maybe look to rehome her in a near future. Her husband has severe allergies and is getting to a point that he can barely support it. Theyโ€™re not sure yet. They love her very much. She asked if I would consider adopting her. I had told myself that I would stay pet less. That the dog sitting would be my contact with dogs for a while. But the contact with June has been so profound, right from the get go. I donโ€™t know what to do!! Have you decided to adopt a dog as you were sitting? How has it impacted your business? I did the course in the classroom about sitting when you own dogs but I would like to read about other peopleโ€™s experiences. Thanks!
