What This Space is For
This is the heart of Dog People. Everything about designing your life around your dog lives here - the places you've found that genuinely welcome dogs, the travel decisions, the housing choices, the work arrangements, the gear worth having, the health questions, the moments that made you realise you'd do absolutely anything for them. No question is too small. No decision is too obscure. If your dog was part of the reason you made it, it belongs here. A few things worth posting about: - A place you've stayed, eaten, or visited that truly loved your dog (not just allowed them in) - A life decision your dog influenced - home, work, routine, anything - Something you've figured out that makes dog-first living easier - A question you can't find a good answer to anywhere else The best communities are built on people being genuinely useful to each other. That starts with you sharing something real. Patrick & Esther 🐾
Happy New Year!
Hi everyone, I hope you all had a wonderful holiday period. Sometimes, times get difficult when we’re surrounded by family! Did anyone escape on an adventure with their dog? We managed to get away on walks and a few meals out. One of the country parks near us is a favourite. It’s called Bradgate Park, and it’s in the county of Leicestershire. We went on Christmas Day - the sky was blue but the wind bitterly cold! So beautiful though. Where do you like to escape to?
Happy New Year!
Somerset: One of Molly & Pip’s Favourite Places 🐾🌿
Somerset is one of mine and @Esther Nelson's favourite places. But if I’m honest, it’s really Molly and Pip who made the decision for us. We’ve holidayed there now 3 out of the last 4 years, and every time we arrive they behave like we’ve brought them back to their personal kingdom. There’s one spot in particular they’ve claimed as their own: Quantock Cottages, a peaceful little cluster of cottages tucked between rolling hills and ancient woodland… where the only things that break the silence are birds, the wind, and your dogs charging ahead because they’ve found an exciting smell. That’s the vibe. The walks around there are ridiculous in the best way possible. Long trails, wide open fields, forests that look like they’ve been fashioned for a movie - and paths that seem designed specifically for dogs who want to sniff every blade of grass. Molly goes full detective mode the second we arrive. Pip does her usual “We live here now!” routine. And honestly? We kinda do the same. Quantock Cottages has become the kind of place where: - the dogs are muddy within five minutes - you are relaxed within ten - and everyone sleeps like they’ve done a triathlon by bedtime Every year we think, “We should try somewhere new...” Then we look at how happy (and tired!) Molly and Pip are and suddenly we’re booking it again.... I'll share a few photos in a minute - I'm sure Esther will add more, because this is one of those places that dogs just understand immediately. It’s freedom. It’s quiet. It’s pure joy. If your dogs have a “favourite place” they drag you back to again and again, let us know. We love hearing where everyone’s pups come alive. 🐶💚
