Hi, friends! I’m so glad you’re here. I’m Kayla, an educator, former school-district leader, nationally recognized educational consultant, and lifelong Christian. Throughout my career, I have helped people engage complex ideas, find their voices, and turn learning into meaningful action. I created Dog-Eared Discipleship to bring that same intentional approach to Christian book studies. This community is for readers, small-group leaders, teachers, and ministry leaders who believe Christian books should do more than fill our shelves or give us passages to highlight. They should help us understand Christ more deeply, examine our lives honestly, listen to one another carefully, and live our faith more faithfully. Here, you’ll find thoughtful, ready-to-use study guides that move beyond chapter summaries and recall questions. Each guide gives every participant an accessible way into the conversation, often through a simple yes-or-no question, and then invites the group into deeper theological reflection, honest discussion, and practical application. You do not need to be a theologian, an experienced group leader, or the most confident voice in the room. Curiosity is welcome. Questions are welcome. Thoughtful disagreement is welcome. Growing together is the goal. Well-read books. Well-lived faith. To begin, let’s try the kind of question that will shape this community: Has a Christian book ever changed the way you understood Jesus or lived your faith? A yes or no is enough to join the conversation! If you answered yes, feel free to elaborate: What is the name of the book and one idea that has stayed with you? If you answered no, I'd love to know: What is one question about Jesus, faith, or everyday life that you would like a book and this community to help you explore? Welcome to Dog-Eared Discipleship. Let’s read deeply, speak honestly, and grow faithfully—together.
