Gale-Gazer (Mar. '26 - Wk 2 COTW)
the Gale-Gazer, a stout-hearted coastal guardian. While it has the vibrant, unmistakable features of a puffin, this creature boasts the muscular limbs and dynamic wingspan of a small dragon. True to its husky heritage, the Gale-Gazer is incredibly energetic, mischievous, and possesses a signature curly tail. Despite its fearsome dragon-like skills in combat and flight, it is best known for its vocal "awoo" and its boundless enthusiasm for exploring rocky cliffsides.
Born from the final breath of the Frost Wyrm Aurorax, who sought to infuse his fading essence into the lively puffin colonies of the northern cliffs, the Gale-Gazer is a bizarre biological masterpiece. It possesses the iconic colorful beak and tuxedo plumage of a puffin, reinforced by shimmering draconic scales and a powerful, ice-laced "Brine-Blast" breath weapon. However, its spirit is pure husky; it is defined by a chaotic, high-energy disposition, a dramatic tendency to "awoo" at the rising tide, and a stubborn refusal to remain majestic when there are "zoomies" to be had across the mossy rocks.
The creature’s legend was cemented when a sea gnome named Elara raised the first of its kind, Riptide, and harnessed his boundless enthusiasm to defend the town of Galehaven from pirate raids. While its draconic strength can shatter a ship's hull and its keen senses can track lost sailors through a blizzard, the Gale-Gazer is most often found nudging locals for head scratches or "fetching" heavy anchors for fun. Today, they serve as the spirited guardians of the reefs—legendary protectors who are just as likely to save your life as they are to knock you over with a clumsy, joy-filled pounce.
