Had a great session with Dim today. It was really insightful to see that when you run a business, you’ll always have competitors. When the topic of price comes up, you might sometimes be more expensive than your competitors. Even if you feel your price is fair, it’s interesting to see others charge less. It feels good when the client comes to you with a lower quote, and instead of pushing for the sale, you guide them and show that a lower price doesn’t always mean better—it can also come with risks. Slowly, the client starts to understand what they’re signing up for.You’re really helping the client see both sides—the benefits and the downsides—and it’s up to them to choose. Another takeaway is that when you need to prove your value, it’s actually a chance to help the client. You show that you have the necessary skills and tools to get them the outcome they want and solve their problem. If they reject you, that’s useful feedback too. It helps you see what might need to change—maybe your product can be better, or maybe it’s not solving the client’s real problem. You keep improving until you get the result you want.

Sometimes you already know your potential, and you can see multiple different directions to go, but you just need someone who knows what they are doing to fucking validate and vet the right options. Today Dim and I did our first 1:1 business coaching session - we nailed down my business direction and built out an MVP, pricing model and go to market plan. I think one of the biggest values of having a business coach is not necessarily what to do, it’s just having someone to bounce ideas off and validate that you’re going in the right direction or challenge your thinking and assumptions. Going to be trying to launch this MVP in the next 60 days. Got my plan and steps done with dim. Keen as fuck.

Just wrote myself a personal reflection as I was watching the first video as it triggered a thought…. I’ve realised just how insane your self belief is as a driver of the outcomes in your life. The beliefs you hold, the values you live by, etc literally determine EVERYTHING. Having cleared a lot of shit in the first fire pit programs I did with Dim, and reprogrammed my brain to thinking positively from a negative place it’s insane how this shit manifests in reality. It’s pretty rare now that I have negative thoughts about myself these days, but when I do I know exactly how to understand them and reprogram them. I feel like I’ve developed this insane cause and effect model of the brain where I can program my brain like a fucking computer to believe whatever I want it to believe in order to make me do the thing I need to do.
