First Book Done!
Well, the first book generated. I won't say it came out perfect. The description designated flash backs through the chapters, which did not happen. But am I pleased? So far. I ran the work through Auto Critique and came back with Story 86% Reader Fit 93% for an Alpha read and the highest chapter score of 97%. There are a few chapters a lot lower, but that would match how a person writes (lowest was 64% and the average was 81%)
I'm doing the clean up run through that we all should do before completing the novel for publishing. Will let you know how it works out.
Here are the asks I would like to see:
1 - Export/Import - I would like to see the ability to import and export from the site. Simple for some of the items like characters and outline. I found it clunky trying to go over the outline on the site to fine tune the chapters. The ability to export it as plain text or an XML markup would make it easier to go over the layout and add/remove things to make the work more personalized
2 - DOC/DOCX save - Having the ability to download the work in docx format would allow me to look at the work and make subtle changes that I would personally like to see, or to use the software I already own to personalize the "print ready" or "epub" format. I have my own layout for the copyright page and so forth that is my own preference. Please the software I have covers a lot of formatting that I don't think is in Book Nova (orphan control and such in print ready files). So it would be nice to have that. The copy/paste of each chapter is clunky for the tech enabled writer (though I do appreciate the huge amount of options available)
I hope this comes across positive, for it is meant to be. The work so far on the site is huge and should be recognized. Thanks for that. This is just suggestions that I think could enhance the end user experience.
