Imagine making MORE money during slow season than in your busiest months. Sounds crazy? Keep reading.
Before I talk about the strategy that I used in the beginning of my career to constantly stay booked and busy during my slow months.
You need to understand that even when I work at salons and am employed -
I take control of my books.
I am a control freak by nature, especially when it comes to my income.
I only let the front desk or the management do so much with my books.
I always know what is going on with them, who is coming in, and who is coming in 5 weeks from now.
That is the key to my success during slow months.
This is what I did and still do to this day -
In between clients I would sit at the front desk and look at my books 2-3 weeks from that day.
I would text or email all of the clients that I had booked and offer them 50% off if they wanted to come in sooner.
They could only come in on the open slots that I had that week or the next.
I wanted cash quick, I wasn't trying to move them up a few days.
A lot of them took the offer and I was booked solid again.
The now open spaces in 2-3 weeks would be most likely filled up by the time it got to that point.
Did I lose money up front? Yeah.
I still made more money than I would have if I didn't have anybody.
And I got tipped.
So no, I wasn't sad about losing the 50% for a few weeks.
It also made my clients feel really good.
Who doesn't want to save a little coin?
