Welcome to Homeowner High Skool!
For context, I spent the first 10 years of my working life in customer service and sales (ending as a Regional Manager and Sales Trainer). I then spent the next 20 years as a Carpenter and Residential Remodeling Contractor, working directly in homes, managing projects, and navigating the realities homeowners face once construction begins. Today, my focus is on helping homeowners avoid confusion, misalignment, and costly mistakes by understanding how residential projects actually work before they start. I’m not here to sell construction services, and this community isn’t about finding contractors. I’m here to make myself available to homeowners who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or uncertain about next steps—and who want clarity before committing to quotes, contracts, or major decisions. Most homeowners believe that project success comes down to finding “the right contractor.” In reality, many project issues begin long before a contractor is hired—when scope is unclear, decisions are missing, and expectations are not aligned. What determines whether a project goes smoothly isn’t just who builds it, but how the project is defined, sequenced, and communicated from the start. That includes: - How decisions are made and documented - How scope is defined so pricing is accurate - How trade sequencing actually works - How design choices affect cost, schedule, and constructability - How to evaluate quotes without guessing Homeowners often struggle not because they did something wrong—but because no one ever taught them how this process works. That’s what Homeowner High Skool is about. I help homeowners replace assumptions with understanding, confusion with structure, and stress with confidence—so when they do engage contractors, everyone is aligned and outcomes improve across the board. If you’re here to learn, ask questions, or get unstuck before moving forward with a project, you’re in the right place. I’m here if you need me.

Hi! My name is Mike!
I work directly with homeowners to develop, refine, and document their project vision—helping them understand scope, sequencing, and design decisions before engaging a contractor. Most homeowners are asked to make major financial decisions without ever being taught how residential construction actually works. Projects often begin with quotes, even though critical decisions are still undefined. This leads to inconsistent pricing, misaligned expectations, and unnecessary stress once work begins. My role is to step in before that happens. Through a structured, education-first process, I help homeowners clarify what they want, understand how their project should unfold, and translate their ideas into clear, build-ready documentation. This creates alignment between homeowner, design intent, and eventual contractor—reducing surprises, improving pricing accuracy, and setting the project up for a smoother execution. I don’t sell construction. I don’t compete with contractors. I prepare homeowners to engage them intelligently. DemoToDone exists to replace guesswork with clarity—so homeowners can move forward with confidence, and projects can move from demolition to completion without chaos.
