As a part of my practice of being sustainable in Tiny Spaces, I work to know what is around me and how it can be used.
Right now, I am getting the next area ready in The Garden For Ability.
This is the pilot project and outdoor demonstration project that I designed and am implementing.
I have been working on getting the wild blackberries under control. And there is golden rod around the edges. This is both a useful plant and a challenge in this space. So I use it.
The blooms on goldenrod make a beautiful dye. They also make beautiful remedies.
Today's tasks in the garden:
Pull out the Golden rod and make tincture.
Pull out the lavender from its bed. Take cuttings for propagation. Dry the leaves for tea.
Tomorrow, after Garden Chat, I'll get the area ready for mulch.
So, yep. Lots going on here at the house.
Work continues on The Garden For Ability: I also planted elderberry and gooseberry this week.
Making medicine from what I pull out.
Harvest in the outdoor spaces is in full swing.
And The Container Garden Challenge. It's time to start thinking about food and herbs for the winter in the dark and tiny Spaces here.
