Using Polyrhythms in Your Playing
Most musicians come across polyrhythms at some point.
3 over 2.
2 over 3.
Cross rhythms.
They make sense on paper.
But when you try to actually feel them and use them in your playing… things fall apart.
You lose the pulse.
The rhythm feels forced.
It doesn’t sit naturally in the music.
This workshop is about changing that.
In this session, we’ll take polyrhythms out of theory and into something you can actually feel and use.
We’ll work through:
• how 2 over 3 and 3 over 2 really sit against the pulse
• how to connect them to your internal sense of time
• how to move between them without losing the groove
• how to apply them in real musical situations
This is not about learning patterns.
It’s about building a deeper connection to rhythm so these ideas become part of your playing.
If you’ve ever thought:
“I understand this… but I can’t actually do it yet”
You’re in the right place.
