Leadership
Leadership is everything. There are all kinds of leaders that you will encounter in the military.
The big thing is to learn from all of them. Some of them will be terrible leaders and some will be amazing leaders. Take the good and bad and think about what type of leader you will want to be when you get to that position.
The biggest thing to do at the start is to not let it affect your view of the military as a whole. A poor leader is the number one thing that makes people not enjoy their time in the military. It is one of the largest career killers for service members.
Not every leader will be like that. Not every command will be like that. The beautiful thing about the military is that you have to wait it out for a short time if you don't like your command. The cycle out every 18-24 months. Weather the storm and the next command may be amazing. The other part that is great about the military is that you can change locations yourself or even jobs. If you don't like what you do, change it. You have the power to make the change in all aspects of being in the military.
