Love & Death
James Baldwin said “love takes off the masks we fear we cannot live without & know we cannot live within.” Read that again. I think every death & rebirth begins with an unmasking. Which is the decision to love ourselves a little more. To honor, respect, & accept ourselves & our truth a little bit more. Enough to release something our hearts know cannot come forward. Thus opening the door for us to become something more. You may be eager to become, to evolve, to reach your next level. You may be exerting a lot of energy to do so. However your evolution won’t be achieved through force, it will be allowed to unfold through love. The masks which protected you for so long must be removed with patience, understanding, gentleness, and love. Because there are parts of you, still afraid, peeking from behind those worn out masks. Those worn out identities, habits, relationships, & beliefs; wondering, if it’s safe for her to come out & play. If you’re finally ready to recieve her. To believe in her strength & ability to adapt. When we are truly living in love, our frequency naturally raises to the point where everything not aligned with it falls away. There is no thing for the misalignment to resonate with or cling onto. Therefore, if you are still clinging to things, people, masks that are not alignment, it is an invitation to invite more love into where there is a wound. There is a very practical way to do so, which we will cover in our From Shadow to Superpower ceremony. It is love for yourself that brought you to this point & love that will continue to facilitate the embodiment of your power. Reflect: Within my current transformation, what mask is ready to be loved off? What part of me has been exiled, hiding behind this mask & how can I nurture her forward? What am I afraid might happen if I do? This is where the work is.

Love & Death
Who & what is Death?
The first & most important thing to do is begin evolving our understanding of how we conceptualize and relate to Death. In the comments reflect on any of the following. There is no right or wrong answer. 1) what do i feel when I think about Death? 2) what does Death mean to me? what is my understanding of Death? 3) am I afraid of Death? does thinking about Death make me uncomfortable? If so, why? 4) if I could ask Death a question, what would it be?
Death is a goddess
If you personified Death, what would it look like? A grim reaper? A dark, ominous, unknown figure? Every time Death has knocked on my door, she’s brought me gifts. She’s undressed me of every weight that never belonged to me. She’s taken me on long walks and told me truths I could never find anywhere else. The more time I spend with Death, the more I come alive. This after all, is the reward of her medicine. To me Death is an energy, a flavor of wisdom, a science, a goddess. She only looks as scary as the amount of fear you have towards her. So to me, she doesn’t look scary at all. She looks fearless & holds the compassion of one who has seen all, and therefore understands all, and therefore loves all. Death never came to take Life, rather to teach us how to cherish & make the most of it. Death has many expressions. To say she is this, does not mean she isn’t that, as well. Who is Death to you? What version of her have you gotten to know? After reading this post, has your opinion of Death changed?
