THE BEVEL
Hi friends, 🤚
Happy Wednesday!
Here’s a little FREE video—the basic, one of the most important starting points in dance.
This foundation will help you build control.
THE BEVEL
💃 What “the bevel” means in dance:
The bevel is a basic pose/stance where:
Your weight is on one leg
The other leg is bent slightly, with the toe pointed (often placed near the ankle or slightly forward)
The hip naturally pops to one side, creating a flattering curve in the body
🔥 Why it’s important:
Creates a feminine, stylized silhouette
Adds attitude and presence instantly
Serves as a starting point for walks, poses, and transitions
Common in burlesque, jazz, heels, and commercial dance
