Q uestion
In Deuteronomy 15:17 it says ‘then take an awl and push it through his ear lobe 👂 into the door frame’. Why the 🚪frame? Is it because it has a special meaning like in Passover the Israelites smeared lamb’s blood onto the door frame? Is it really the lobe? Or is the awl pushed through the cartilage of the auricle? 👂 😣 that sounds like owwwwwwwwch! Is this a lifelong legal commitment or if the person’s master 👨🏼 dies he will serve his master’s sons? 👦🏽 👦🏼👧🏽👧🏼 or will the covenant naturally come to an end?
