Introduction to Cutler BJJ Online.
As you have probably read on the cover page, my name is Jacob Cutler. This post is just to give a little information about me and my platform here. I started assistant teaching in 2016 and have been running my own classes since 2023. Over that time, I have spent a lot of time helping students of different levels understand Jiu-Jitsu, improve their technique, and build confidence in their training. One of the common problems I see in training is that students often miss small details, do not fully understand the idea behind a technique, or are unsure which technique they should be using in certain situations. This platform is designed to help with that. My goal is not just to show more techniques. My goal is to help you understand techniques more deeply, learn how positions connect, and build a strong foundation that you can use to develop your own Jiu-Jitsu game. This platform is for anyone who wants to build solid fundamentals and improve their understanding of Jiu-Jitsu. It will be especially helpful for beginner students who are unsure what to learn first, what to focus on, or how to structure their improvement. It can also be useful for intermediate or more advanced students who want to revisit the basics and look at techniques or positions from a different perspective. Inside Cutler BJJ Online, members will find a supportive community of people all working toward the same goal: getting better at Jiu-Jitsu. Members will have access to: Technique Breakdowns: A technique library where I will post videos explaining techniques, positions, details, concepts, and common mistakes. Accountability: A section where members can use a supplied template to track their training, set goals, and stay consistent. Ask for Help: A place where members can ask questions, get help with problems they are having in training, and use a simple template to explain what they are struggling with. Programs: A section where future structured programs will be added for members who want a more step-by-step approach to improving specific areas of their Jiu-Jitsu.

Weekly Training Check-In
Use these questions as a template for your check-ins. You can use this section in whatever way suits you best: Public: Post your check-in in the Accountability section so others can support you and learn from your progress. Semi-private: Send your check-in directly to me through DM. Private: Use the template for yourself without posting it. 1. How many times did you train this week? 2. What did you focus on this week? 3. What went well in training? 4. What did you struggle with? 5. Was there a position you kept ending up in? 6. Did you try anything from Cutler BJJ Online? 7. What is one thing you want to improve next week? 8. Do you need help with anything? 9. What is your goal for next week?

Help Request Template
Use this template to help ask your questions. Just copy, paste and fill out the questions. Once you have filled it out, if you are comfortable posting publicly, that is encouraged because other members can learn from the answer too. If you would rather keep the question between you and me, send it through DM instead. 1. What position are you struggling with? Example: bottom side control, closed guard, mount escape, back control, guard passing, etc. 2. Are you on top or bottom? 3. What keeps happening? Explain the problem as clearly as you can. 4. What have you tried so far? 5. What happens after you try that? Do they pass, sweep, submit, hold you down, escape, take your back, etc.? 6. Do you have a video? Optional, but very helpful. 7. What kind of help do you want? Technique advice, concept explanation, drilling ideas, or feedback on what you are doing wrong. 8. Feedback preference: Public answer or DM.

Upcoming Techniques
So far uploaded is a lot of lessons on small details that are common in Jiu Jitsu like what a gift wrap is and a few others, with only 4 full technique lessons. However, next up I have 9 lessons that will be uploaded in the next week showing different techniques, and an additional 4 lessons on what the positions are and more small details that are common in Jiu Jitsu. If you have any techniques you want to see in the future, or any problems that you are having, comment them below or post your question on the “Ask for Help” section.
