Before you Apply for Grants

Grants aren’t just about luck they’re about legitimacy.
Make sure your business is properly set up:
• LLC or Corporation registered with your state
• EIN from IRS.gov
• Business bank account
• Business email + phone number
2️⃣ Build Business Credibility
Funding follows structure but approval follows credibility.
💡 Use your business name consistently on every document.
💡 Get a professional website or landing page.
💡 Create a digital footprint (Google Business, LinkedIn, or website bio).
3️⃣ Know What You Qualify For
There’s free money everywhere, but not every grant fits your business.
Check:
• Local city + county small business grants
• Women-owned or minority business programs
• SBA microgrants
• Corporate grants (Visa, FedEx, Nav, etc.)
💜 Pro tip: Search “open small business grants [your state] + [current year]” on Google monthly.
4️⃣ Keep Documents Ready
Most people miss out because they’re unprepared.
Have these saved in a folder:
• Business plan or short summary
• Bank statements (3–6 months)
• EIN letter
• Articles of Organization
• Copy of ID or business license
