TIPS
- Send one item at a time when you're starting out.
- Always keep a copy of what you sent and every response you receive.
- If you send by mail, certified mail with return receipt requested gives you proof of delivery.
- Check current bureau dispute rules and timelines for your situation — general education note: bureaus generally investigate within about 30 days.
Privacy rule: Never post your log with account numbers, Social Security numbers, or birth dates in this community.
