New Piano Piece - Nocturne in D Major
Sometimes music doesn’t turn out the way you expect…
This Nocturne in D Major actually began as a song.
I was writing to the words from Psalm 23:
“The Lord is my shepherd…”
But it just wasn’t working.
I could have abandoned it—but something in the music stayed with me.
So I sat at the piano, began to play, and slowly it found a new shape…
Not as a song, but as a nocturne.
What emerged feels peaceful, reflective—perhaps even carrying something of that original inspiration of rest and guidance.
It also stretched me as a pianist. The flowing chords between both hands took real work to get right!
