This week I had two full days of moving. I thought I was doing okay. Then I took the dogs to be groomed, did three small loads of laundry, and today I'm exhausted again. At the same time, I have a summit presentation due. Every part of my high-achieving brain says, 'Just push through.'
But here's the question I've had to ask myself: Can high achievers push their way past capacity?
The answer is no. We can push past our awareness of our capacity, but we can't push past our actual capacity. The bill always comes due.
Clarity begins when we stop arguing with reality and start listening to what our capacity is telling us.
