You are creating your reality!!! Is it the one you want?
A pattern I noticed with individuals who struggle with repetitive negativity is that they don't take the time to distract from those thoughts. Instead, they ruminate on those thoughts and wonder how they can fix them or stop them. They're looking for a cure, a sure fix, something that will remedy the situation and make it feel better and/or not happen again. The thing is, what we resist, persists, and where focus goes, energy flows, and what we choose to focus on, we create more of...so trying to directly fix a problem is not always the solution. If I tell you don't think about the color green, what are you now thinking about? Now do you know how to get the color green out of your head? Its definitely not be talking about it, or thinking about it. You have to distract your brain to think about other things. Focus on something else. Use your five senses to engage in the world around you. It may take longer for some than others, but I promise if you focus on other things long enough you'll forget about the color green. Ok, now think about your favorite vacation. What are you doing, thinking, feeling, who is with you etc... I bet you just forgot about the color green if you hadn't already. And THAT is how you create your life. THAT is how you beat negative thoughts. THAT is how you shift your reality. THAT is what I have done the last five years and I am AMAZED at how powerful the mind is and how much control I have over what I am creating with both my inner and outer worlds. When I realized that I was focusing on things I didn't want in my life rather than focusing on solutions and creating, the game changed for me. And it has never been the same. I can't control what people around me think/do/say...but I can protect my peace by creating boundaries, and I can focus on creating the life I want by shifting my thoughts and actions to be beneficial instead of entrapping me and keeping me stuck. Victim mentality thinks your stuck and life is happening to you. Ownership mentality creates in spite of the chaos. One feels depleting and helpless. The other feels empowering and limitless.

What's everybody up to this weekend?? My 14 year old and I are working an event here in town for a women's march/expo. Super excited to hang out with my kiddo and do our thing :).

NEW WEEK BETTER YOU!
Hey people! I love stacking micro-habits because it makes things feel easier and achievable. It shows me that I can do hard things, and over time those things add up to be big things! This week, my habit is to add a 3rd bottled water to my day. I love that with this system I don't have to be perfect. If I don't get them all in one day, my brain doesn't tell me I to wait until monday to start over, It tells me, you got this tomorrow!!! Ironic that I'm checking in on Mondays though right?
