🖼️ START HERE: Welcome to the CRAVE Tribe
(Watch the welcome video above first! 👆) Welcome to the Tribe. I’m Mike. If you’re here, you already know that a $5,000 camera doesn't automatically make a great photo. What makes an image undeniable—what makes people want to devour it—is Visual Hunger. We aren't here to rely on "lucky snaps" or generic filters. We are here to master the science of light, the art of styling, and the architecture of editing. Whether you're shooting campaigns for high-end clients or just experimenting at your kitchen table, this is your "Professional Kitchen." We learn, we test, and we grow together. YOUR FIRST 3 MISSIONS (Action Required): I don’t want you to be a spectator; I want you to be an active part of this Tribe. To officially take your seat at the table: 1. Get Your Tools: Head over to the Classroom tab and start "The Appetizer" (Your 7-Day Quick Start). Download your 'Before You Shoot' Checklist and the 10 Essential Setups Ebook. 2. Introduce Yourself: Drop a comment on this post below. Tell us: - Who are you and where are you from? - What is your biggest struggle in food photography right now? (Is it lighting? Editing? Styling?) 3. Enter THE LAB: Once you've checked out "The Appetizer", head over to the 🔬 THE LAB category and join the active discussions. That’s where we put your photos under the microscope. 🛡️ THE CRAVE RULES (How we operate): - The 2-for-1 Rule: Community first. If you want feedback on your photo in The Lab, take a moment to give constructive feedback to two other members first. - Context is King: When posting your work, explain your process or the specific problem you're trying to solve. No context = no feedback. We critique the pixels and the light, so help us understand your vision. - Zero Ego: We have seasoned pros and passionate hobbyists here. Treat everyone with respect. Leave your ego at the door; we are here to build each other up. - No Spam or Self-Promo: This is a place for learning and sharing, not dropping links to your services or outside groups. Keep the kitchen clean.

🏆 THE RULES OF THE FEAST: How to Level Up
Welcome to the lab. In CRAVE, we don’t just consume—we contribute. To keep this community elite and high-value, we use a levelling system that rewards your craft and your engagement. Think of it as your journey from a curious observer to a master of visual storytelling. 📈 How it works It’s simple: 1 Like = 1 Point. When you post high-quality work or leave a thoughtful, constructive comment that others find valuable, you earn points. As you earn points, you unlock new status and privileges. 🍴 The CRAVE Hierarchy - Level 1: Hungry Apprentice (Your starting point). - Level 2: Light Seeker (UNLOCKS PRIVATE CHAT – Your voice starts to carry weight). - Level 3: Texture Stylist - Level 4: Layout Architect - Level 5: Visual Storyteller - Level 6: Art Director - Level 7: Visual Chef - Level 8: CRAVE Visionary - Level 9: Master of the Feast 💎 Why Level Up? 1. Status: Your level shows everyone in the Tribe that you’re a serious creator who provides value. 2. Access: Reaching Level 2 is your first major milestone—it unlocks the ability to Direct Message other members and myself. 3. The Algorithm: The more you contribute, the more the community thrives. We are here to sharpen each other’s eyes. 🚫 A Note on "Quality" We are Art Directors and Creators. Spamming or "liking" everything just to get points will not work. We value Intention over Noise. Focus on the craft, help your fellow creators, and the levels will follow. "Your contribution is the only currency that matters here." Ready to start? Go to the "Appetizer" course, watch the welcome video, and introduce yourself in the feed!

THE LAB: Mobile Magic – Share Your Before & Afters!
Editing is the final step in the 'Visual Hunger' process. It's where we pull the viewer’s eye exactly where we want it to go. In Lesson 3 of "The Appetizer", I showed you how to transform a dull mobile shot into a professional 'Hero' image. Now, it’s your turn to put your work under the microscope. The Task: 1. Apply the techniques from the video to one of your photos. 2. Post your 'Before & After' in the comments (or as a new post here in The Lab). The Analysis: Tell us which tool made the biggest difference. Was it the Texture pop, the Vignetting, or the Color Grading? I’ll be dropping in to critique your edits! 👇

THE LAB: Which Lighting Logic are you testing?
I'm diving into the 10 Essential Food Photo Setups Ebook from the Classroom "The Appetizer" Lesson 2. Lighting isn't just about 'brightness'—it’s about carving the food with shadows to create Visual Hunger. The Challenge: Pick ONE setup from the ebook to recreate this week. Comment below: Which setup (#1 through #10) are you going to analyze and shoot first? Once you’ve taken the shot, post your results here in THE LAB. Tell us: Did the lighting do what you expected? Let’s break down the result together. 📸
