🌅 Travel Sense Tuesday
Seal Beach & Huntington My Gramma’s favorite place is California. I asked her to tell me about it, and what she shared has me wishing even more that I could go. Seal Beach was the first place she talked about; a small town with a long pier, surfers on one side, families and a playground on the other. She said it’s touristy in the best way, “like if Prairie Grove had a beach,” and I can picture exactly what she meant. A little farther down the coast is Huntington, another spot she loves. Wide sand, good surfing, fancy hotels right across the street, and sometimes the big surf championships roll through. It has a different kind of energy, but close enough that it feels connected, like part of the same stretch of memory. Hearing her describe it all makes the whole coastline feel closer than it is. And if you’re dreaming about this area too, there’s a complimentary‑night offer at a Huntington Beach hotel right now; one of those places that sits just steps from the sand she was talking about.

A 3‑Step Packing Tip for Real‑Life Trips If packing always feels like a scramble, here’s a simple 3‑step method that keeps things calm, organized, and doable — especially for families. Step 1: Pack by “Daily Use,” not by category Instead of packing all shirts, then all pants, then all toiletries… Think in daily bundles: - outfit - pajamas - toiletries - any extras for that day This keeps you from overpacking and makes it easier to see what you actually need. Step 2: Use the 2× rule Pack two of each essential, not five. Two swimsuits, two pairs of shoes, two comfy outfits you can repeat. Kids especially don’t need as many “just in case” items as we think. Step 3: Create a “first night” pouch This is the game‑changer. Put these in one small bag: - pajamas - toothbrushes - chargers - one change of clothes - any comfort items for kids When you arrive tired, you don’t have to dig through everything. You can settle in quickly and deal with the rest later.

A Calm Coastal Escape for Families If your family has been craving a trip that feels peaceful, beautiful, and easy to settle into, Terranea on the Palos Verdes Peninsula is one of those rare places where everyone can breathe a little deeper. This stretch of coastline has a story of its own — once part of the Channel Islands, slowly shifting and fusing with the mainland over millions of years. Because of that, the area has plants, rocks, and views you won’t find anywhere else in California. Long before it became a resort, the Gabrielino‑Tongva people lived along these coves as fishermen and traders, and the land still carries that sense of quiet, grounded history. Today, the resort was intentionally designed to honor the natural shape of the coastline. Mediterranean architecture, open‑air spaces, and buildings that gently step down toward the ocean create a setting that feels calm, safe, and spacious — perfect for families who want beauty without the rush. Here’s what families tend to love: - oceanfront paths and tide‑pool exploring - kid‑friendly pools and easy dining - wide, quiet spaces to wander - a slower pace that feels good for everyone And right now, there’s a simple offer that makes it even easier to plan a getaway. ✨ Buy One Night, Get One Free Travel dates: Dec 31, 2025 – Apr 30, 2026 Booking window: Now through Apr 30, 2026 Code: BOGO Book one night and receive the second night complimentary. It’s a great way to stretch your stay without stretching your budget. If you want help checking dates, comparing room types, or seeing whether this offer fits your family, I’m happy to walk you through booking options.
