April moves fast.
More rides.
More to do.
More moments where things don’t go exactly how you planned.
This is where most horsewomen lose their steadiness
not because they don’t know what to do,
but because they react too fast.
Meditation this week is simple:
Stay after the moment.
Not before.
Not during.
After.
WEEKLY CHALLENGE — “One Breath After”
For 7 days:
After something happens
- a missed cue
- a sticky transition
- a distraction
- a small frustration
Take one breath before you do anything else.
One inhale.
One long exhale.
Then continue.
No correcting immediately.
No stacking cues.
No rushing to fix it.
Just one breath after.
This trains your system to recover instead of react.
Then notice this when you ride:
- Do mistakes feel smaller?
- Do you stay clearer instead of spiraling?
- Does your horse settle faster after something goes off?
In your tea journal, write one line:
→ Did I stay, or did I rush past the moment?
Stayed
Rushed
Paused then reacted
Reacted immediately
Came back quicker than usual
No judgment.
Just awareness.
April doesn’t need perfect rides.
It needs shorter recovery, because the horse doesn’t need you to be flawless… just steady enough to come back.
