During the 2011 Joplin, Mo tornado recovery, I spent 3 years running a disaster relief center. We had a food pantry and gave out food to thousands of families. I was shocked to learn that if food was not prepackaged or microwavable, they did not want it. I started asking why? The overwhelming answer was, "I don't know how to cook it". So I started comng up with recipes that start with a Basic Pantry, and then adding to it as you can. In this group I want to share thrifty recipes with video instructions, cooking techniques and lessons , and have community discussions.
If you are on a budget, need ideas, want to know how to prepare different foods, or just want ideas for quick, easy, and cheap meals, please join us.
