Welcome 📚
I want to start this community with a question. Do you remember the feeling of opening a children's book when you were young and simply disappearing into it? For me, it could be Tom Sawyer painting the fence, Huck Finn drifting down the river, Dorothy meeting the Scarecrow and Tin Man, or Alice falling down the rabbit hole. I remember the colorful covers. The illustrations. The old wooden bookshelves. Pulling out a little book and settling down somewhere quietly. The smell of the pages. And that strange feeling that the world inside the book was somehow real. And even now, decades later, a single illustration or an old book cover can suddenly take us straight back there. That is what I want this community to be about. Just people who grew up with these books coming together to remember them, rediscover them, talk about them, find forgotten favorites, share the editions and illustrations they remember, and eventually introduce these wonderful worlds to the next generation. So let's begin with the most important question: What children's book from your childhood can you still see in your mind? Tell us the title and, if you remember, what is the first image or scene that comes back to you when you think of it? 📖 For me, it was The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain, and the first image that comes to my mind is Tom painting the wall white.
