Pronunciation Practice
@Vicent Miralles Lluch Thank you for joining today's pronunciation class. Vicent couldn't make it the last few weeks, so we practised the short I /ɪ/ and Long EE /iː/ from a few weeks ago. I have attached the document for information, should anyone be interested in practising these important sounds. This is the difference between words like: 🚢 ship and 🐑 sheep 🏖️ beach and bitch 😳 shit and sheet

📰🌍 What’s hot off the press this week? This session uses the flipped classroom method. This means that you prepare before the class, so we can spend more time speaking, sharing ideas and learning from one another during the session. Choose a current affairs story that has caught your attention and come ready to summarise it, discuss it and give your opinion. 🗞️📺 It’s a great opportunity to practise expressing your ideas, asking questions and responding to different viewpoints.💡 As always, you’ll receive constructive, personalised feedback to help you communicate more clearly, naturally and confidently. 🙌

Today's conversation class (7pm Madrid) : Why Do Celebrity Deaths Affect Us?
I’m sure we say it every year, but we seem to have lost quite a few celebrities already this year. 😪 Some of those who have died were people I grew up watching on TV or listening to—their work formed part of my childhood and brought back many memories. But why can the death of someone we have never met affect us so deeply? And why do some people mourn celebrities publicly? In this class, we’ll explore our emotional connections to famous people and discuss different forms of public mourning. The language focus will be on: 💙 Expressing empathy 💭 Explaining emotional reactions 🤝 Discussing differing opinions respectfully As usual, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to speak and will receive constructive, personalised feedback from me. I hope to see you there!
