Just wanted to share another win. I have been really questioning my numbers lately due to a lack of work. Mind you, I ran these same numbers all of last year. I wasn't as busy as I wanted to be, but I was able to pay myself what I wanted to. I am confident in my skills and in the value I offer, but I run into dry spells that make me start doubting things. I sat down this morning and reworked all my company numbers and came up with a new daily rate. Some of the numbers needed to be adjusted to reflect the accurate costs of some of my overhead, but I slashed the budget line for a helper and several other things that aren't necessary for keeping the business going. I reworked an estimate I had submitted to a high end builder that I have been trying to get in with. I spent a good amount of time selling myself in person to this builder and didn't get any of the usual builder red flags. I opened my email to find an email from the builder telling me they had incorporated my numbers into the project and were planning on moving forward with me. Moral of the story is this for me. I know that there is a niche in the tile market in my state that will gladly pay my prices. I spend a lot of time reassuring myself to be patient and persistent. It always pays off. Every time. I get the results I want because I know I am doing what I need to for finding my ideal client. Be persistent, consistent and patient. Take the steps you need to to grow your business, it will happen as long as you are doing what is within your power to do. Attached is my original estimate that was accepted.
