A lot of us don’t only fear rejection itself.
We fear what we make rejection mean about us.
Someone doesn’t reply → “I’m not important.”
Someone isn’t interested → “There’s something wrong with me.”
Someone seems distant → “They don’t like me.”
We don’t get invited → “I don’t belong.”
And when we’ve experienced rejection enough times, our mind can start trying to protect us:
Don’t approach them.
Don’t send the message.
Don’t show too much of yourself.
Don’t risk looking stupid.
It protects us from rejection — but it can also keep us disconnected.
Name one experience in your life, where you are actively experiencing your mind protecting you after facing rejection and / or where you have changed after facing the rejection?
I experience a harsh one when I returned back to Denmark, I then was numb, then shook it off, as she didnt even know, that was it!
She didnt even know me, simple as that, how can someone reject you, if that someone doesnt even know you?
