Two years ago today, this picture/video captured a version of me that was smiling through pain most people could not see. Inside the Confidence On Command Lab, I want to be honest about something: Leadership and healing can exist in the same room. Yesterday, I received 35+ Botox injections for chronic migraines while continuing weekly therapy and daily treatment for lupus, PTSD, anxiety, depression, gastric issues, chronic pain, and emotional exhaustion. And yet, i still showed up. Not because it’s easy. Not because I always feel strong, but because purpose does not disappear just because pain is present. One of the greatest misconceptions about confidence is that confident people don’t struggle. That is not true. Confidence is not the absence of fear, trauma, grief, exhaustion, or emotional regulation challenges. Sometimes confidence is: • showing up anyway • asking for help • going to therapy • resting without guilt • choosing not to quit • regulating your nervous system instead of performing strength • honoring your healing while still honoring your assignment There are days I encourage others while privately trying to calm my own nervous system. Days where I pour into rooms while simultaneously rebuilding myself. Days where I must consciously remind myself that slowing down is not failure, but one thing remains true: I refuse to allow pain to take away my passion, purpose, or calling. The joy God gave me can NEVER be taken away. Not by illness. Not by trauma. Not by disappointment. Not by invisible battles. So if you are building something while healing… If you are leading while struggling… If you are trying to regulate your emotions while still pursuing purpose… I need you to hear this: Your pain may shape your story, but it does not get to define your destiny.
