Day One in the books.
Started the morning with a group of 9 year olds, working on the simplest thing in baseball — playing catch. It was a struggle. Footwork, glove side, throwing lanes, all of it needed work.
An hour later I was in front of my 13U national team, teaching my most advanced offensive concepts.
That journey — from struggling to play catch to elite offensive concepts — takes about five years. But watching it happen back to back in the same evening puts it in perspective.
To the parents: enjoy the ride, don't be in a hurry. Keep it fun and they'll find the love of the game. The rest is up to them.
To the players: the earlier in your career you commit to mastering the fundamentals, the closer you are to becoming an elite level player. Elite guys master the fundamentals. No mistakes, just execution. That's the goal.
